Weekend Recap

We started out our weekend by attending our nephew's first football game. He's a 6th grader. You can see him here, #51.

And here, he's the one hitting #18.

Later in the day we went acorn hunting. As we were picking up acorns from under a tree, Dave was pelted many times with acorn pieces from the squirrels' eating frenzy above us. It was pretty funny. Some of the other trees around us were starting to show signs of fall.
I can't wait until it officially arrives. We came home with a small baggy full of acorns. Now I just need to figure out what to do with them.

I did some laundry and other chores this morning. Not my favorite thing to do right after I get out of bed, but since I got it all done early I had the rest of the day to whatever I wanted.
Darlene over at Darlene's Days put this raggamuffin tutorial up the other day. I thought I'd give it a try today. I went to Walmart and dug through the scrap bins until I found what I thought would be enough fabric. I cut up the fabric, then got to work tying it on my twine. Here's my finished project:
It didn't take very long, and I only paid a little over $2 for the fabric.
For the rest of the afternoon my plans include sitting in our big chair with a blanket and reading old issues of various magazines to get more fall decorating inspiration. I might make some hot chocolate too (it's only 62 degrees here today).
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

I LOVE IT but don't know how you always seem to find such bargains. I try but am never successful. I wish I lived near you. I think I would learn many many fun things and that we'd have a blast together.

I love this idea! I found you through my wonderful friend Frizzy. She is always so crafty herself. I will have to try this out in my house! Thanks for the wonderful ideas on your blog!
