Movies

We went to The Hangover last weekend. Some parts were pretty funny, others not so much. The Rainman scene was hilarious! If you don't like swearing you most likely won't like it because it is excessive in this movie.

Gran Torino was David's choice from Red Box. I wasn't real excited about watching it but I really, really liked it! It made me cry, wasn't expecting that from this movie!

We watched Bedtime Stories the other night. I thought it was really slow. I suppose kids would like it but I'm a little skeptical on that one even.

I thought Fireproof was a good movie. Bad acting. Bad, bad acting. But the message of the movie is a really good one. If you're not looking for a cry, don't watch this movie!
Let me know if you've seen any of these movies and what you thought :o)

Baseball

Just a few pics from our nephew's baseball game last night.

After the game....he's the one who is a good head taller than the rest of the team :o)

Lamp Love

**Welcome everyone from Sanctuary Arts' make-over open house. :o) I posted this just last week.**

My sister-in-law Shawna asked if I wanted this set of lamps while we were staying with them during our vacation. I wasn't sure at the time what I'd do with them but I gratefully accepted them anyway.
Well it didn't take long to decide that I wanted to put them in our kitchen. So I went to work painting the bases red and covering the shades with fabric. End result:

LOVE them!

Chicago

Oh how I loved Chicago! The sites, the sounds, the smells were all so different from anything you get around here. We had a great time and can't wait to go back.

**Not sure if it will show up in readers or not, but I have a put together a show of our pictures from our trip.

A Little Project

It all started with this small sign I purchased a few years ago.It had been sitting in the closet for quite some. I pulled it out a few weeks ago to give it some sort of new life but couldn't decide what to do with it. First I painted it yellow with the plan to make something for the kitchen. Then it sat that way for a few days because I still couldn't think of anything to do with it. My next idea was to have my husband cut it into two pieces so I could make two little somethings with it. Yesterday I gave one piece a coat of red paint then pulled out my fabric supply while the paint dried. Here are the supplies I used:
A small piece of burlap, a scrap of red and white polka dot fabric, a MEMORIES embellishment, the chunk of wood and my handy spray adhesive. I sprayed the wood and the burlap then placed the burlap on the wood. I set that aside to dry a bit and pulled out my sewing machine so I could do a quick zig zag stich around the polka dot material. Then I glued that piece on top of the burlap with the spray adhesive, let it dry a little and then stuck the embellishment on top. Since I had everything on hand, I'm going to consider this a free project. :o)
I also got my chalkboard painted and hung this past weekend. I'm loving it!!
