Non Giveaway
I was contacted by a company a few weeks ago to do a giveaway of one of their products on my blog. I was really excited as it was the first time I had been asked to do a giveaway. I was told that I could choose any of their products, up to a $50 value. Then I was told to do a little write up on my blog and I had to include a certain keyword linking up to their site. Well, that was all and good except the keyword made absolutely no sense for my blog. The keyword was something that I would not be shopping for, especially since we live in an apartment. I gave it a lot of thought and decided not to do it. As much as I would love to give you guys a chance to win something, I just couldn't do it and feel good about it.

Hey, Nichole! I won't mention the name of the company here but I think I was contacted by the same one about a month ago. I was told the same things as you were. Something didn't feel right about it so I agreed to a review instead of a giveaway in case it fell through. Anyway, after a lot of back & forth I never heard from them again. It just all seemed kind of strange.
I think you made a wise decision. It sounds kind of shady to me too!
I think it was a great decision as well. If they wanted to really work with you then they would have let you use key word links that fit with your blog.
