Weekend Recap

David had to work this weekend so I just hung out around the apartment. I decided I needed a project last night so I dug this wooden sign out of the closet.
I sanded it down a bit then painted it black. While I was waiting for the paint to dry, I typed up my letters in Word and printed them out on a plain piece of paper. I then chalked the back of the paper and taped it onto the board and traced the outline of each letter. I forgot to take a picture before I started painting but here's an in process pic:
End result:

It was a lot more time consuming than I expected it to be, but it kept me busy.
-----
We head back to school tomorrow. It's going to be tough getting back into a routine again, especially since I slept in every day of break!

Hope everyone had a great weekend :o)

That turned out great! I've actually been eyeing some of these signs on Etsy. It's great that you could utilize something you already had that wasn't being used.

Too cute... What a great way to reuse an old sign.. What did you use for the Est. and 2008 are they stickers or did you paint them on as well.. thanks for sharing..

Very cool sign! DO you have a ton of paint and such laying around to complete projects like this or did you have to go to the store for the paint?

This is so cute! This might be a dumb question but what does that mean "chalked the letters?"

Very cute idea, Nichole!! I love how this turned out. And the fact that you already had the old sign laying around is even better!! Great way to recycle an item that you weren't going to use again. That's for inspiration!!

PS...How did you do the est. and 2008?
