So yesterday one of my students was talking back, having a hard time following directions, etc. It went on for awhile and finally I told him that he had to sit in our other room in the "time out" area. I let him take a coloring sheet and some colored pencils with him since he wasn't in big trouble but just needed some time away from the class.
About 10 minutes later I went back to the other room to get him. He was still a little grumpy as he handed me this picture and said, "This is you." At first I wasn't sure what he was talking about because all I saw was this:
But then I noticed this in the corner:
It's always nice to see yourself through your student's eyes. ;o)

Oh no!!! Oh goodness, that is kind of funny. AND, for the record, I don't think you look like that at all! :)))
Oh my! You know I am sure that some of the my kids in the Pre K class see me as the same way. I am always taking names for time out during outside and center time. I was ask one day..."why do you always put us in time out?". I was heart broken! But I told the ones that ask that they aren't supposed to be talking and interrupting during circle time. But I guess I don't always look that way because they all hug me and tell me they love me and when I've been out for just a day they act as if I've been gone for a lifetime. Precious!
OMG! Are you sure he just wasn't saying you're pretty like the eggs? :)
I think he was drawing a self portrait if you ask me. That drawing looks like a grumpy person to me not a teacher who gives a kid a chance to regroup in quiet.
