After my unsuccessful attempt at keeping tulip plants alive a couple months ago, I decided to give it another go. These plants grew (and grew and grew and grew) and they are still alive!
The plant with the flower is over 18 inches tall. Not sure why they are getting so tall but I am happy that they are still green and flowering (and growing straight)!!PS - Rummage sales are starting in my area again. Woo-hoo!! Hopefully I'll have a few projects to show soon!
PPS - David and I will be celebrating our one year wedding anniversary this weekend. Where has the time gone?!?!

Home Wrecker
Last weekend I decided to do a little spring cleaning. I cleaned the patio doors and our little patio too. We have two small evergreen trees on either side of the patio that had been collecting little pieces of garbage every time the wind blew since last fall. I decided to get out our big push broom and push out all the garbage and dead tree needles. Once I was finished my first thought was, "Hmm..I probably shouldn't have cleaned under that tree because we usually have baby bunnies living under there in the spring." Thankfully I didn't have any little bunnies fly out from under the tree with the junk so I thought I was in the clear.
**ETA - I just poked my head out the door and the bunnies are all out hopping around the tree. Apparently one is just a little brave than the others. :o)
Well fast forward to today. I was walking on the sidewalk in front of our apartment and happened to notice this little guy hanging out. He's so cute! I took a ton of pictures of him and he didn't move at all. I probably scared the crap out of him so he was too scared to go anywhere! I walked over to our patio so I could get a front view picture of him.Cutest little guy (or gal). So anyway I was crouching down on our patio taking his picture when I looked under our tree and saw this: I think you should be able to click the picture to enlarge it.
Crap!! There was a nest (nest? is that the right term?) of little bunnies under the tree after all. I hope the little one out and about isn't the only one who made it through my "home wrecking" ways!**ETA - I just poked my head out the door and the bunnies are all out hopping around the tree. You Know You're Getting Old.....
I just noticed that we have some new neighbors moving into the building. My first thought as I watched them unload their lawn games and coolers from the back end of their truck - "Oh great, college guys." Not to be mistaken with "Great! College guys!" Uh, I must be getting old! :o)

A Green Heart With a Black Thumb
I had a bit of spring fever last Friday so I stopped at the W-Mart to pick up some flower seeds. I'm horrible with plants so I decided to get two 20 cent packs of wildflower seeds. Cheap and hopefully won't need much attention since they are wildflowers. Anyway, I was surprised when I looked over at the cups the other day and saw how much they had grown in 5 days.
I thought it would take longer to for them to emerge so now I have two "problems". How do I keep them alive until the end of May when I can put them outside and where will I keep them if they continue to grow at this rate?
This is the makeshift greenhouse they've been growing in. It won't be long until they are too tall to stay in there. I don't have a lot of confidence that I can keep them alive once they are out in "the real world". Eh, for 40 cents I'll just be glad I got something to grow at all!
